Dear WIXers:

The first weekend in May wil be an official JET BLAST event at the Wendover airport in Utah.

This is hosted by Historic Wendover Airfield Museum and the Classic Jet Aircraft Association. I included a link to the events page but check out thier galleries as well - neat planes!! It should be a great event - especially since the approved number buster airspace is right next to the airport.

Maybe we'll get a few western WIXers out??

I know that we're out of the way but, if anyone is interested, the museum will be giving free tours of the old base and we have finally gotten our full scale "little boy" A-bomb on display. I'm working on having the B-29 hangar open for looky loos - this is the hangar the 393rd BS used while training here in Wendover and is often referred to as the "Enola Gay" hanger. Plus if you want your picture sitting the "Jail Bird" C-123 it will be open for the public.

I know for sure that there will be a couple of T-33s, a couple of Provosts, and at least 2 L-39s - I am really hoping for a F-100!! but that might be too much to hope for :?

And if you have a jet, they will be doing FAST training as part of the fly in. Should really rattle the windows over town

Thanks,

Tom P
