The "Airpower Arkansas" airshow is this upcoming weekend. Mostly current military, but there are several warbirds attending, including two CAF C-47's (Bluebonnet Belle and Black Sparrow); the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team will be making formation parachute jumps from these aircraft as we did at "Thunder Over Michigan". It should be fun! The 82nd AB is going to jump 320 troops out a formation of C-130's; that isn't something you see every day either! http://www.airpowerarkansas.com/homepage.html Regards, Andy |

For those who didn't get a chance to come out for the "Airpower Arkansas" aishow, you missed a nice event, particularly if you are into transport aircraft. The WWII Airborne Demonstration Team did a cargo drop, followed by a formation parachute drop by 20 team members from the CAF C-47's "Bluebonnet Belle" and "Black Sparrow". The modern military followed up with a mass supply drop from 4 C-130's, and a mass exit of over 300 members of the 82nd Airborne from 7 C-130's. You don't see that every day, unless you live next door to Fort Bragg! You can find some pictures from our part of the event at: http://www.wwiiadt.org/photo_gallery/LR08.htm Regards, Andy |
