There will be a Fly-In departing Fredricksburg Tx (T82) on Sat September 6 going over to the LBJ Ranch of Viet Nam era Warbirds. This will be the first public use of the LBJ airstrip ever (we have had 2 previous private events). The hangar at the ranch is where many of the news casts of the war originated from. So far we have 22 O1s', 2 O2s', 2 T-28s', Skyraider, Huey, and more to come. Birds will gather at T-82 begining on Friday and recover Saturday night thru Sunday. Hopefully we can make this a yearly event with the National Park Service. Sorry to conflict with your fly day at Lancaster Lynn, but we have been working on this thing for over a year. Public is invited to drive in, sorry no fly-ins to the LBJ, but welcome at Fredericksburg.

So what does the smiley face say. Good, bad or indifferent? You can come, I think they had C-140s on the Lexington off Yankee Station.

We are counting on you Karen. Met a guy the other day that was airfield manager (commander) at Da Nang circa 65-67, and he will be there.

I'm thinking its was bits a pieces falling off your plane that went thru the prop?

Interesting that they have been advertising the opening of the LBJ office and hangar to the public on August 27 (LBJs 100th birthday) and no mention of the fly-in next month. I hope we get the same press coverage next month for the fly-in or more.

Gee, Cuz, thanks for letting me know about this earlier! The U-11 is a Vietnam era plane, after all. Oh, I guess it's because you knew that I'd be working that day. Wish I could make it.
