ALS Bluebonnet Picnic May 5, 2007

Sat Apr 28, 2007 4:30 pm

Ya'll come out to our 27th annual Bluebonnet Picnic and Fly-in here at Cannon Field (53TX).
See: http://www.als-cannonfield.com/AnnualPicnic.htm.
We're hoping for some good friends, good weather, good food, and safe flying. The squadron's been busy today getting the aircraft and the field ready for next weekend. Enjoy some pictures of what it takes to get our place ready!

The hogs have been taking a toll on one end of our runway, but we are actively working to undo their work. There should still be approximately 2400 feet of runway useable.

Can you see the L-5? We were practicing for one of the events on the schedule.

We hope to see you here!

Unless something totally unexpected pops up on the radar, it looks like a go for this weekend.

Just an update that today's fly-in is still a go. The TAFs look good enough for VFR flight. If things don't clear up fast enough, we'll just delay it a bit. Yesterday started out a little yucky in the morning, but the afternoon was very pleasant and the demo practice went fine.

Just to let everyone know, despite some weather issues, and only one aircraft flying in (Thanks Heritage!) we had a decent picnic. Turnout wasn't too bad considering the weather, and the Squadron was able to raise some funds. I enjoyed getting to fly in the L-Bird demo as well. Here's a picture from the event taken from our control tower. Hope to put up some more pictures (maybe some video, too!) later on.
