Well, generally Jim Read is their with 3-4 of his birds. He'll probably take his F4U, P-51, T-28 and A-37 again.

We're thinking about going with the C-54. Not confirmed yet, though.

*The third-ranking fighter-pilot ace of all time, Günther Rall, and the T-6 that he flew after World War II;
*Col. Bob “Shorty” Rankin and a P-47 that was part of the mission that shot down Rall;
*a Flying Tigers P-40 and appearances by famed Flying Tigers ace Tex Hill
So is this actually Rall's T-6? :?
Was this very P-47 actually on the mission? :x
A Flying Tigers P-40? :shock:

Very misleading. Give me a break... :roll:

Trae,

Are you confirmed for Oshkosh?

Maybe this was posted already, but is there a WIX gathering/bash planned for Oshkosh?

If I understand correctly, the answers are "yes" for the first two out of three ... ? If not then I agree, very misleading.

Paul, a get-together is in the works for Friday evening at the Baughman's place again. I'm sure that Zack will begin posting details once we get a little closer to July.

Last year's event included an assortment of WIXers as well as many of Zack's volunteers from Timeless Voices of Aviation. It was good fun meeting the whole bunch. Who wouldn't have fun with beer, burgers, brats, and a pirate from the land of lutefisk? :partyman:

Maybe the T-6, but not the P-47. There are only a couple of WWII combat vet P-47s out there and none are currently flying. I am guessing that this is Butch Schroeder's 56th FG schemed aircraft.
