Sorry guys that I am going to miss the NEAM meet. Weather has not been that great and push goes to shove here. Going to screw waiting for good weather and get the truck in the rain. Al knows what its like to drive a MV with dry rotted window seals..........Much like flying a DC-3 in the rain......lol So I gotta get it this weekend cause the old man is hounding me to get the annual done on the N. Open cockpit flying weather up here is few and far between so i gotta have it ready for when its here...........think we flew her 3 hrs last yr cause of weather and mag problems.

so hope you guys have a good time.

Dry rotted window seals :| , yeah I can one up you on that one Jeff.

Stowe show 1988 (maybe 89). Typical Stowe, it rained friday and part of saturday, so I decieded to pack up early and head home saturday night. I was driving my old Dodge WC-51 3/4 ton weapons carrier.

Image

It was as you see it in the picture, no top. I got as far as Montpelier and it started to rain and traffic sucked, that flat pane of windshield glass turned into a big mirror. I could see all that was behind me and nothing in front. I had to pull over and lay down the windshield so i could see something. It must have been quite a sight, me driving through Montpelier and Berlin 10:00 at night in the pouring rain with the windshield down.

Good thing a cop did'nt see me.

By the time I got to East Barre the rain had stopped and the moon was out. Being a warm August night I left the windshield down and enjoyed the rest of the drive home. By the time I got there I was all dried out and had a pretty good story to tell.

Sorry to slew so far off topic guy's, but that dry rotted comment made me smile :D .

Of course there was that time I was driving home from Weare in the jeep.......... but I suppose I could wait and tell you all in person. :P

Will try to out due....................think it was 87. Dad and I were at Sugarbush airport for the EAA pancake breakfast with the N3N. Typical Vermont weather, rain and low clouds moved in. We snuck out early and try to beat it, only to have it close in on us before flying through Lincoln Gap. Rain beating down on the windshield, in the mountains with low clouds. Doing the IFR (I follow Roads) routine, dad ran us through the gap. Our ole Wright 760-8 never missed a beat. Got her home to a wet runway at shelburne. Mom came out of the house when we shut down and asked dad if we were supposed to be flying in this. I remember him saying, "hell the mail carriers did it all the time" and she replied "well your not carrying mail, your carrying our son".

But we had a great time anyway.

The Northern Contingent of the Maine Snow Ball Militia has RTB At 2330hrs, with Mike making another ten minute run for cover. Love these 20hr days! Glad to see a good turnout and look forward to doing this again! A Very Interesting Day! AND IT SNOWED THE LAST 40 MILES HOME

Hey,

We arrived in Bedford at 6:45pm to pick up a few tols and things for the bug. Then arrived home at 7:45. Great ride, we went 91/291/84/90 and it seemed smoother than a normal rainy ride. While leaving Hartford we were listening to WCCC on the radio and during their 80s weekend we were serenaded by music from R.J. Dio and Tesla. Oh, those were the days!

Museum was great, Lunch was great, Pics came out great, drive was great!

See you all soon!

Kelly & I had a lot of fun. Now I need to update my home computer OS so that I can down load my pictures and use the software that came with my camera. I guess after 7 years its time to upgrade to Windows XP. Oh well

Rob
Thanks for shareing the Moxie, I'm saving my other bottle. Does it age like a good bottle of wine? Maybe I'll drink it tonight. :D

A special thanks to Larry, He did a great job and made it very enjoyable. GREAT job on the hellcat. That is sweet.

I know, I know, but if I don't give him a good poke once in awhile he'll grow complacent and he might start drinking Pepsi or something. Can you think of the damage he would cause if he had a swig of 7up?

Nope, I'm just gonna have to poke every few months to keep him on the straight and narrow. :snakeman:

The ride was not as bad as it could have been. I'm glad I left when I did though as I was able to get through Springfield before the traffic got real bad (real bad being a relative term).
