Hi all,
I thought that I'd better finally get around to making a statement about the proposed forum meet. Unfortunately it will not be happening around the time that was originally discussed. If it was, then it'd be happening within the next week or two.

The principal reason for it not happening is that I've been very busy of late. Thankfully some of this has been caused by actually doing things related to the project.

It would still be great to have a forum meet along the lines of that originally proposed at some stage in the future. We'll see what happens. At least there would be more to look at on a later visit. I might have made some visible progress by then and there are also a few nice, airworthy birds coming to the neighbourhood in the near future.

Apologies for not making this post at an earlier date. Although this full blown meet isn't happening at the moment, I'm sure there'll be something of a meet at the Avalon airshow and it'd be great to meet a few people in the flesh.

Cheers,
Matt

UPDATE!

Well, Steve P will be hitting Victoria and he, I, and Setter will be touring Point Cook and Morrabbin on the 18th of Feburary; as well as aiming to get to Wangaratta and, if possible, and if Matt's available, Ballarat too on the previous day, the 17th. Anyone interested in hooking up, feel free to send Setter or myself (or Steve - though he's technologically challanged while travelling - what a pilot) a PM, and we'll see what we can do. A massed Victorian WIX Meet photo at RAAF Point Cook or Moorabbin would be kinda cool.
Cheers
James

Hi Jeffrey

Sorry not this time - It really is a flying tour but I want to see SA again soon - perhaps we could meet up?

Kindest regards
John P

sounds good to me although there's not that much here that is flyable in the way of warbirds that I can put my hands on. as for liquid indulgences, that's another matter completely!

well, for that to happen I'll be hoping that one of the visitors brings a few copies of warbird digest as I can't quite afford it at the moment and would dearly love a chance to read a copy or two ( HINT HINT HINT! )

Avalon's not far off

Is a meet to happen at Avalon?
I'd like to hook up with others from this forum and put faces to names.

PS Does Oscar Duck need anyone to clean the windows of the TBM this year?

I'll be there Saturday & possibly Friday morning!

Watched the Hornet practicing aeros here today & must say it is the most aggresive routine that I've seen an Oz Hornet fly for many years. The new paint job looks pretty schmick as well! Well worth getting to Avalon to see.

Cheers
