Well,we made it from Kansas City to Buffalo in one piece...My son Mike, and I left around 1AM, and made it the 945 miles by 5 pm...Saturday...First thing we did was go make a quick visit to the airport, and then set camp...
Just after dark, Jim Beyers, a fellow WIXer from Missoula, Mt arrived...we helped get his tent pitched, and settled in for a nice comfy sleep at around 30 degrees!
Sorry for the lapse in time, but I got kinda sick while working on the old Poon...But here goes....Wyoming is a fantastic state...full of wonders...and weather...always wonder about the weather...We went through some changes during our stay there...Some days we saw all four seasons in less than 8 hours! Started one morning in t-shirts....by noon we were in coats....by 2 PM, we were back to t-shirts...Nites were usually in the upper 30's, but we stayed warm in our tents...just hard to get out of the sleeping bags in the mornings!
In getting the wings preped to pull, Monday was spent loosning wing bolts, removing trailing edge wing panels, hoses, wires, and cables..
Jim and Mike spent a lot of time on the wing...the leadinjg edge proved to be quite a problem...
Nobody even thought of bringing any sun screen!...Mike got a little crispy! Both suffered a little dehydration that afternoon.
