I dropped a friend off at the airport (TYS) this morning and the Liberty Belle was already there. An article in the paper over the weekend led some to believe you could do ground tours during the week, but this was not the case. There were about a half dozen of us peering through the fence. One thing I noticed was the tailwheel was flat. I wonder was this done on purpose to discourage theft?
Next to her on the tarmac was a Lockheed SP-2H Neptune Firebomber. There have been several forest fires in the Smokies recently. I hope she is still there Saturday so I can get some better shots. Also, while I was standing there a T-38 Talon taxied in.
