Hate to do it, but there is a new rule

Politics - It has become evident that discussions of a political nature cannot be done in an objective fashion about this subject that people are so passionate about. So, unfortunately, political discussion is prohibited as of March 19, 2007.
Any political discussion will be removed from the forum. I have tried to let things slide but people insist on ripping into each other and are generally disruptive. Since this forum is not devoted to politics it doesn't really have a place here. If you want to discuss politics I am sure there are other places to do so.
Sorry for having to do this.

Thank you for your efforts to keep us all focused. It's a great forum and I'd hate to see it disappper.

Hate to say it, but I knew it was coming sooner or later. I apologize for the part I've had in the discussions and the sidetracking of the site.
Good call.

I have already sent a PM to Scott apologizing for my part in the discussion. Now I make a public apology. This is a good move as I told Scott and I will just stick to my passion for warbirds; unfortunately, mine was involved in that unpopular war and my experiences with it may have clouded my judgment in replying to a thread already in progress here. Sorry Y'all.

Can't say that I'm either shocked or surprised. Politics and religion are probably the two most devisive topics on the entire planet. We all believe what we believe and we are not about to sway one another in this place.
Excellent move Scott. Sorry you were forced to make the decision, but in my very humble opinion it is the right one.
Now, about that debate of round vs inline........

I think Bill deserves a apology for some very undeserved remarks
directed towards him.
Keep up the good work Scott your efforts are well appreciated

Having been called down for giving my unasked for 3 cents' worth on another site, I agree with Scott. Use the 'pm' function. Duh!

Probably a good idea Scott. I know most of the political discussion has been civil up until just recently. If people can't discuss politics without slinging personal insults then it's time to ban the topic.
