Welcome all. I know some of you might not like this new forum style but unfortunately all the forum software looks similar. This software is very customizable and I will be changing the appearance as time goes on.
Please give it a chance and I'm sure it will grow on you. For now both new and old software will be running but eventually the old software will have to be shut down.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to e-mail me at

Thanks for all the hard work Scott.

So far this is easy to use. The more it can be made to look like the old forum the better.

Scott, this seems to be a web standard for PHP... I have used it before and it can be great once the small bugs are worked out (the Stearman Restorers Association uses something similar too).
I think its a move in the right direction and will be well worth it when done!

Yup, feel free to post new messages in both if you feel like it. I figure it will take a little while but eventually people will get used to it.

thanks Ryan, I'll check out the Stearman forum. You are right though. Just about every forum software I found that has any sort of functionality is set up in this type of format. I think it will take some getting used to but the style is pretty straight forward.

Several new tricks, figured out how to change the header, explored Private messenging (sort of like inter forum e-mail), created a ranking system for posters
(starts at aircraftsman and goes from there, why? because I had a list of RAF ranks handy
)
And last, but not least, the wonderful world of Avatars (the picture under my name at left) I can't seem to get the upload function to work but you can call them from an offline source, or if you ask real nice, send a picture (80pixelsx80pixels and less than 6kb) and I will post it in a avatar folder on this site that you can call it up from.

Thanks Scott for all the hard work getting this new forum set up. Looks great.
I've been away for a little while. I did get your email while I was gone and I'll get back to you shortly.
Best of luck with the new forum.
