Fagen's P-38 "Scat II" attended Oshkosh in 2015 I believe.

Yes, the last flying P-38 at Oshkosh was Fagen's in 2015, and although "Glacier Girl" has been at Oshkosh several different years, the last time it was there was in 2014.

For many of us, one big part of Oshkosh will be missing this time around.

"Big Al" Sosnoski of the SOS Bros. beer tent was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on July 6...presently in a medically induced coma up in Neenah hospital. Special prayers and toasts for Al's complete recovery for a return in 2020!

my bad, it's landed at Osh, somebody verify, I looked at old flight schedule where it landed at Springfield, possibly for fuel. According to flightaware it landed about 15 min. ago at Osh.

We were doing our annual Barnstorming Carnival in Springfield, Ohio today, kind of a combination vintage aircraft fly-in, vintage car cruise in, and public event with various activities available like model building for kids and such. I was giving rides in a 1930 New Standard biplane, and heard on the radio, "Springfield traffic, Twin Mustang Nxxxx 10 miles south inbound for landing..."
What?
I keyed the mic and asked, "Is that the P-82??"
"Affirmative."
Wow.
I don't think they knew that an event was going on, there are no associated Notams and airport ops stay normal, but they were clearly happy to show the airplane off to an appreciative crowd. Several people who have met them at other places have commented on the friendliness of the XP-82 guys, and this seemed apparent. I happened to be refueling the New Standard when they took off, a good vantage point standing on the top cowl, and oh my god what an awesome sight and sound that machine is.

Also, I'm not sure if they ever found out that all visiting vintage aircraft were to get 10 gallons of free gas......

Collings' P-38 emerged today in its fresh paint. What are the chances of it heading to OSH with the Hellcat?
