I watched the presentation and Jason Muszala of FHC said that given the condition of what they had you need 3 aircraft to make one flyable aircraft. I think he claimed they had 2.5 wrecks to draw on. Even then there were significant pieces that they did not have complete examples of and had to reverse engineer from photos and measurements particularly a casting that supports the coolant radiator and cowl flaps that they only had 15% of an original. Amazing effort.

Wow, that was the best video I've ever seen on facebook. Tremendously insightful and full of information. I highly recommend everyone watch it.

Some info from the video:

1) This Stuka took 3.5 airplane projects to make one airworthy one.

2) The Jumo 211 engine took 10 examples to make an airworthy one.

3) The Jumo will be test run for the first time this month at Nixon's place.

4) They are replicating each "identity" and paint layer of this aircraft from the time it left the factory until it was shot down.

BTW, did anyone catch the little Freudian slip that Jason made about the Ju-88?

Official confirmation of this rumored FHCAM type?

There was spy photo of one of their hangars with a CASA sitting outside pained in Luftwaffe colors. Looking inside the hangar, I believe I saw a pair of Ju-88 wings in good condition and resting in cradles. So maybe yes.

Hopefully FHC will publish of video of the Jumo 211 testing.

I absolutely loved this. As a Kiwi warbird fan in the 90s I grew up with the prospect of 6234 being restored to fly in NZ, and I was so heartbroken when it was sold I wrote to Sir Tim Wallis who was kind enough to write back about the sale of it and the Bf110s. So I am over the moon being able to finally see restoration photos and know I will see her fly. Those photos were amazing, and Jason's talk highly informative.

I only have two notes, FHCAM: I'd love to have heard Karl speak and the Q&A, and dates (even just a year) on the photos would have been very interesting.

I am very envious of those who attended.
