MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! TO YA'S ALL .... Be happy, be safe, remember the vets and their families, be good to yourself, your family and your friends.
It's always a pleasure to try to find something interesting to post.

Thanks to Scott Rose and his crew for allowing us to teach, to learn and to share what we all seem to enjoy.

All the very best

M

Did like your decline of Democracy. I have often thought that the politicians of the world are trying their best to destroy Democracy while the voters are no longer getting the proper governments or oppositions.
Democracy is very special and it should not be abused.
Merry Christmas Mark and a Happy and safe New Year to all.

Loved the photo of the Grumman Tracker another of my favourite aircraft.

My jaw hit the floor from that 1969 shot of the P-35 in Ecuador! If only...
Thanks Mark and Merry Christmas! :santa:

Addendum: The shot of B-25J 44-29808 N5248V is at L.A. Trade Tech, not LAX. Behind it is B-23/UC-67 39-64 N33311, later torched by vandals and scrapped; the Mitchell was cut up in 1976.

One more question:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/142209609 ... 067210740/
Any guesses where this was taken? Could it be the boneyard at Steward Davis in Long Beach, CA and could these be the PBYs that were blown up for Tora! Tora! Tora!?

Mark, this one in particular caught my eye . . .

https://www.flickr.com/photos/142209609 ... 98/sizes/l

The B-17E in the background looks to be 41-2418. It served in Guatemala during the war and the final entries on its record card are interesting.

One entry mentions APO 851, which is Fort Brooke, Puerto Rico. Another shows it as a "GB-17E" at BARN (Puerto Rico) on 8-17-44. Final entry is BARN CON SAL OBSOLETE 6-26-46.

Could be but, I want to say they were stored at Santa Ana (KSNA), not KLGB.

I’ve lost FAR more “Embitt Scan” auctions than I’ve won. Both the quality and quantity of his auctions never ceases to amaze me and I can’t help but wonder where he comes up with them all!!!

Finally, I have to admit my favorite color slides were of the light twin known as Carole Landis; a beautiful and tragic figure.

I have a few more photos of that particular B-17. I'll see if I can find them.

Yep! sorry I had to scrap it or lose it through Flickr's new rules. I have all the photos in a folder and if anyone wants copies I'll get them to you.
