I saw the P-51B, TBM, and DC-3 of the Historic Flight Foundation at KSFF's annual FREE "Neighbor Day".

Also the locally-based Grumman Goose in 1943 colors, and a very nice T-28A in USAF natural aluminum....as well as a few of the local Stearmans (both stock and modified).

Saw a B-24 fly over Brookings Oregon today at about 12:30 PM. Maybe around 5000 feet, heading NE. Anyone know what plane it was and where it's headed?

This morning PH-LSK 484AD4 Noorduyn AT-16ND Harvard IIB of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Historic Flight coming from it's home at Gilze Rijen flew over my house at 1000 feet and straight away did a nice slow circle!
After that it continued on it's journey, this time going all the way to Leeuwarden air force base.

Just saw the morning C-47/DC-3 freighter sked leave Hay River headed for Yellowknife. I can still hear her as I write this.

Beaver on floats, plus a similarly equipped 206.

Also, a RV something or other (tandem seat).

Last night, at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, I attended the dedication of the new Viet Nam exhibit. Over 700 people attended including Viet Nam era veterans representing all branches of US Military service.
Part of the event was a fly over honoring the veterans with;
A pair of Hueys
Cobra gunship
Hughes Loach
Douglas Skyraider
Douglas A-26 Invader.
On display at the event a Boeing B-52.

In addition the Collings tour was operating across the street @ BFI with their;
B-17
B-24
B-25
P-51

Wisconsin has it's share of things that make life here a challenge sometimes. Hot and humid summers filled with mosquitoes and wasps, winters that can be really cold, snowy and icy with salt that destroys the cars and roads... But for an aviation nut, it does get really special and there's no place I'd rather be. Within the next week and a half we have: the hot air balloon festival in Waterford, the heavy bombers weekend in Madison, the Janesville warbird weekend airshow and the air and water show on Milwaukee's lakefront. Then, Oshkosh to top it all off. On the way home from work today I look up and see the Thunderbirds in a diamond, smoke on following a WI ANG KC-135 with it's refueling boom out with another KC-135 on their wing on the way to the lakefront to practice! love this state!

It's kind of goofy with Oshkosh and all, but driving home I saw a B-17 landing somewhere just north of Chicago.
