Never any chatter about Geneseo any more. I guess there is a show in July

The CAF Dixie Wing's P-63A is already there for the air show (rather than make the long journey back home from Niagra Falls where it was just recently at, it's staying hangared at Geneseo until the air show).

I'll be bringing my Tiger Moth, in a flight of four biplanes from our Neighborhood.
English Tiger, Canadian Tiger, Aussie Tiger and an Acro sport.
Should be lots of fun!

Be sure to come and say Hi.

We couldn't fly down last year. The weatherman said that the fog would lift, just in time for the thunderstorms to start

Let's hope for better weather
Andy

So far in addition to the P-63,
B-17 MMB,
C-47 W7, +1
C-46,
PBY from MAM,
P-40, T-28 and B-25 from AAM,
B-25 Take Off Time plus one more
P-51 Mustang Quicksilver +2 more (Mad Max and new one from AAM?)
F4U Corsair (JT or Godspeed?)

Sukhoi aerobatic act

So far that's what I've heard.

There's supposed to be a formation of four Harvards going as well.

Three from CHAA (including AJ583, which just returned to the skies three weeks ago) as well as Alf Beam's Harvard 2A 2591 in postwar Centralia markings (DA*591).
As far as I know, this will be the first air show appearance for 2591 in her new paint job (I assisted with the research and markings placement) and will be flown by one of our formation pilots in the 4-ship.

I was planning to attend with CHAA, but have decided against it due to family commitments and getting ready for my first ever trip to Oshkosh the following week.

I believe the Corsair may be Louis Horschel's new one (N43FG). Saw it at the Niagara Falls show earlier this month.

Add to the list the MAAM TBM Avenger. That's straight from the NWM via FB.

"Mustangs" plural? So far Quicksilver. I'm expecting the locally based Mad Max and hopefully the new one from the AAM?

Very psyched to have two P-40s!

Also, I'm sure regular Ken Laird will be there with his TORA Val replica. So the P-40s have something to shoot at..... :minigun:

pretty poor PR. Have to open a PDF file to see a texted list of aircraft with no detail as to which ones.

I wish Geneseo could be hyped up like it used to be. But the aircraft list doesn't show up till a few weeks before the show. I never hear anyone talk about it anymore.

Geneseo is and will be what it is...a nice grass roots/grass strip airshow. BUT, where else can you go where you can stand next to warbirds all day long while they start up, taxi in and shut down, having full access to the crews? What other airshow ALLOWS COOLERS?!? What other warbird show allows kids under 12 FREE?!? I can't think of any.

The NWM has a strong following on FB and Craig Wadsworth is very involved there. He regularly replies to posts. The NWM is doing some heavy advertising this year including TV and radio. Yes they are tight lipped about the warbird list, but that is only because they are very sensitive to the feedback should a particular warbird not show up. However, the P-63 is already there.

I've been going to the "new" show now for 11 years and have come to realize that there won't be a return to the way the shows were in the 80's and 90's. The funds are just not there. That doesn't mean it's not worth supporting. My hope however, is that it might become a well known small laid-back type of show that the warbird owners want to fly into and support. Look at the TBM Gathering and Ray Fagen memorial threads. A small warbird only show that probably just pays for gas, and just might become a go to destination for warbird owners. The Genesee valley is beautiful country! I hope it happens.

The NWM has "invited" over 75 aircraft.

A few photos from the show. Saturday was hot and hazy. Friday, of course, was sunny.
