Quick question....does your copy of 5888 show that it superseded a previous spec? The info that I could find shows that 5888 came about in 1951 and it's linage might show the Air Corp spec from WW2. I know a bunch of my electrical parts call outs reference Air Corp Specs in a 94-xxxxx series, which I haven't been able to find a source for, along with some early AN30xx specs.
BTW...you going to make it into the DFW area again this next year? Our mutual friend has un-retired and is now working for the outfit that used to be in Grand Prairie.
Don't have any expectations of making it to Texas anytime soon, but one never knows!
