Sabre Enthusiasts...

My grandfather had his name on both of these F-86Hs while he served in the Delaware ANG in the late 50s/early 60s, and I was curious to know if either of these were a static display anyhere.

53-1250 is still in one piece, I believe, but the last place it is listed is outside of Flying Cloud airport near Minneapolis, MN. The trail is cold after 2006 (I refrenced an earlier thread on this forum that was posted around that time), and I have no idea if it is still there. The last I've heard is it was headed to Lakeville, MN sometime in 2006, but I can't find any evidence that it ever arrived.

He also had his name on 53-1402, which I can't find anything on.

One of these two was in a museum (complete with his noseart, etc) in St. Louis in the mid 90s, but I believe it was extremely damaged in a flood. He doesn't seem to know where it went after they sold it from the museum. He's approaching his 90s now, and I was hoping I could find one of these for him and schedule a trip to go see it and take some pictures with him next to it.

Thanks for any help given.

Cheers! :drink3:

Hey T6FAIP,

Your grandfather's F-86H 53-1250 is indeed still in existence and is nicely displayed in a park in Lakeville, Minnesota. Please see the attached link to Mike Henniger's awesome Aerial Visuals site where you can find more info and a photo. I have seen it myself and have taken quite a few pics that I would be happy to e-mail to you if you would like. I would highly encourage you to take your grandfather to see her.

Hope this helps,
