Great stuff!!! Thanks for posting...

Did anyone notice the large crate in photo 3583 which says "Hitler's Box" on the side... the image is actually inverted, so the writing is back to front. I wonder what as in that box???

Cheers,
Richard

AJ,

I've copied all of the pictures that you've posted beginning with the Long Island thread. This is a wonderful archive and I often use pictures from it for reference.

"Is anyone copying these?"

Are you kidding?!?!

I've D/L'd EVERY pic you've posted. Don't know what I'm gonna do when this thread finally ends.

according to Baugher, 57-5793 was a F-105B-15-RE and was the one on display at Yankee Air Force Museum. Destroyed in fire, October 9, 2004.

haven't introduced myself yet - but primarily wanted to register to thank all involved in this thread which has given me a world of pleasure since finding it by accident. just wish every other similar archive disappearing quietly somewhere could find so many fans - via individuals like you who do the time consuming work.
thanks again,
Steven, on Coral Sea coast adjacent Mareeba strip.
as a start in giving something back - if I may post a link - http://www.ecpad.fr/ecpa/PagesDyn/resul ... tageid=899 for some smallish images of Bearcats arriving in indochine, '51

I haven't popped back into this thread in awhile.

Neat to see the car project. And also the Tommy Dorsey shot and the RAF and USAAF P-47s in that previous batch.

Armyjunk,
I just finished downloading EVERY one of the pics you posted and words fail to express my thanks. I am always looking for vintage photos--especially manufacturing and maintenance--and the kind you have posted are not only absolutely great, but rare--in content and quality. The pictures alone tell a detailed story--actually several. All I can say is a very feable "thank you" for your generosity in time and effort. I wish someone had similar shots from the other manufacturers--especially NAA! Thanks again very much--fantastic!!!

Jim
