It is my sad duty to inform everyone that our own Jeff Funk passed away on December 23, 2009. He will be missed. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

I'm sorry to hear that, my sympathy goes out to everyone that knew him, his family and friends.

Though I remember seeing his postings, can anyone post some kind of mini-bio or at least let us know something about him, as I know virtually nothing about him.

It's always a sad day to hear of a fellow WIX'ers passing.

OMG!! :( Jeff Funk was always the first person I met up with at the Geneseo airshows. Four straight years he was always the first WIXer I would find. He always commented that he always enjoyed my posts and thought they were always interesting. Jeff was a super nice guy and I always enjoyed meeting up with him at Genny. I am deeply saddened. :( :(

Very sad news.
Seemed like I could always find Jeff happily sitting next to the fence at any airshow.
I will miss him being there.
God Speed.

Got to hang with Jeff at TOM each year, and was just getting to know him better. My condolenses to his family and friends.

What a shock! Jeff was a super nice guy. I had some great conversations with him at Geneseo, and like Bill I could always count on finding him right at the fence at Geneseo. I met his family a few times as he often brought them along. Best wishes to them in these difficult time.

Wow, that is a shock. Jeff was always in good spirits and had a nice smile when I met him at Geneseo and Thunder Over Michigan each year. He had a great passion for aviation photography and like everyone else said he could always be found by the fence. He was soft spoken and always polite. He will be missed and I’m sure we will all gather at Geneseo this summer and raise a beer in his memory.

Jeff is seen in the blue stripped shirt on the left shooting with some of the gang at Geneseo in 2009.

Jeff, you will be missed.

I'll miss Jeff's humor at the airshows. It was subtle, dry and had a bit of a bite but that in my mind is the best type. It is hard to say good bye to a friend!
