This is how I will aways remember Mr. Austin. Very friendly and one of the best ambasadors that the CAF ever had, period.
I was honored to shake his hand and be given his business card and told to call anytime.

How hard would it be to take the stuff from the Old 927 thread and make a book out of it.
That's was close to happening but SB killed in dead!
I'll sign off for the night has my anger is getting the better of me.
Will somebody please tell the CAF that Gary and Fifi and Ole' 927 are inseparable to a lot of us? Mr. Brown, how 'bout re-thinking putting that old thread into a book now. Please? If nothing else it would be a decent PR move to honor someone who gave a LOT to you - and will hopefully continue to give to you in the maintenance standards that guys from the Texas Raiders and Yellow Rose groups have mentioned, who, among others, have said he was largely responsible for it. Regardless of how you feel about it, some of us will always feel that some of our pilot friends may owe the safety of their aircraft in part to his leadership.
Here's hoping that the standards he brought in will continue, and will save others lives.
