One more request tonight to fill voids in my Cobra scrapbook. I have no photos of the incomplete P-63A fuselage, 42-68895, in Walter Soplata's collection. Can anyone help?

I'm not certain where I read it, but I believe the P-63 parts may be stored in the YB-36 fuselage. That would help explain the lack of photos (if my recollection is correct).

I found those two photos also late last night in a search after posting. I think you are correct. For some reason I thought it was a natural aluminum fuselage but obviously not.

Thanks very much. I wonder if he found it in a Buffalo wrecking yard or just what? I often wondered if old Walter himself carried a camera on some of his trasure hunts. Just imagine the scrapbook/photo albums he might have!

That is indeed the P-63 inside the B-36 fuselage. I saw it there back in the mid-1990's.
