Well, yet some more "scrap" ended up at Austin Acres Wildlife Refuge, Petting Zoo, Aircraft Tours, & Canoe Rentals today. There is now a portion or two of an old C-97 gracing the neighborhood and lowering property values as we speak. But there was just no way I was going to take this to the scrap yard. So if you know anyone that may want a one-owner, only flown on Sundays (to get the groceries...a BUNCH of 'em), section of airplane, then have 'em give me a shout. I'm sure we could work some kind of deal out. ;-)

And the dents? .....They'll just buff right out.

Oh, and have I mentioned that I have a couple of Beech 18 bits laying around as well? I reckon I could post a picture or two of that mess, if y'all want.

Just curious, Gary, but how many parts off of the KC-97/C-97 are interchangeable with the B-29? Are any, or are they more interchangeable with the B-50?

Good for you Gary!

Shame no one wanted it.

Hmm, wonder if I could build a Scotty style camper out of it! ;)

From last spring...

Gary, you've got the makings of an awesome camper-trailer right there...

Motorhome body!

Make a great playhouse for my son, but then I would be divorced shortly after it arrived...

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

Too wide for a motorhome. 11 feet at it's widest point. Don't think I haven't thought about it though. ;-)

First, build a sturdy trailer under it.
Second, do some cutting and hinging, so it can be narrowed for towing by removing a central section, which can be made to shift upwards and downwards as necessary, out of the way.
Third, restore the interior, close off the open end.

You now have a traveling display of a KC97 for airshows, vintage aircraft displays, etc!

Not really kidding- If I was there, I'd help you!

Robbie

Not too wide to build an enclosed trailer to haul a certain race plane though... ;)

Now, THAT is a neat idea!!! :-)

However, I could be wrong, but I don't believe I have enough time to start another project.

Well done Gary, you could put it back on a trailer and hook some lights up and drive it around the ranch to make it a full motion sim out of it.....

But it would be cool to trailer the Solution to Reno in it and have the back end for the Bud Girls

Lynn

You are almost up to Connie Edwards Status now...
