I'd like to see all three Super Corsairs flying together just once! :D

It could be a very realistic possibility if all of the associated parties wanted it bad enough. Of course it will never happen, but it's an excellent sight to imagine.

We all know THIS WILL NEVER happen, but what the hey! I'd like To see a Squadron of B-36s being escorted by a flight each of F-80s, F-84s, F-86s and F-89s. I don't think thats asking for too much, as long as we're dreaming!

Rob et al--

Re F9Fs, the last (and only) one I saw fly was Art Wolk's (formerly owned by the late Jack Levine) F9F-2, circa 1988 or so at Mt.Hope. I believe the remains of this are stored in Michigan. Also, in 1992 at Breckenridge TX there was a trainer-liveried single seat Cougar stored in the open behind one of the hangars; it looked like a worthwhile project but I've heard nothing about it since.

Re F2Gs...yeah, the three survivors together would be a marvelous sight. One way to make that happen would be to make a movie about the '49 Cleveland races. (Funnily enough the blue Cleland team bird scarcely took part in that year's NAR at all because of engine issues; and that's the one that's never "supposed" to fly again.) You'd have Bob O complete #74 and fly #57 for the cameras; and 88454 could be borrowed from MoF and temporarily refinished in white as #94 (the eventual race winner).
Or one could reincarnate the Bud Light "F2G" to sub-in for #94...since you'd have to build a new P-51C "Beguine" anyway...what's one more megabuck reconstruction...

Anyway, Walt wouldn't approve and probably Champlin/MoF wouldn't either...but I second your motion about the F2G-trio formation!

Cheers

S.

I want to see a P-35 (AT-12), P-36 (Hawk), a P-38, a P-39, and a P-40B fly at Chino. Too bad it won't happen all at once!

Judging from the paint, I would say It's the CAF's P-51C. Gen Reg Urschler is also one of the Heritage Flight pilots. I sure hopes the weather forecast improves so I can see it fly on Saturday.
