Jeff,

I took a horrible picture back in 1980 at the Watsonville Air Show that I can't even post. It was a model FA-1, and registered as N1033C. I believe at one time, it was with a museum in Oakland?

Roger, I THINK this was one built by Hollis Button, a companion to the one in the museum. After trying to sell it for several years, Hollis finally broke it up and sold parts to various individuals. It was quite a feat actaully, they (he and Jack Irwin) even built the motor, a MeteorMotor - I assume they had the cylinders cast, but Hollis may have machined them.

The one in the museum is still there, but it is in an awkward location that makes photography difficult; the museum staff was very helpful to me in my quest.

Seems like every time I look, something else like this pops up. I have seen the picture they have on their site (Port Townsend Aero Museum), but found the additional pics of the project they have. Interesting. Thanks!

I have a four page article from the December, 1988 EAA Expirimenter on Jack Irwin. Somewhere at home I have a brochure Jack Irwin gave me when he was building the plane for the Oakland Museum of California History. Jack Irwin lived in the same town I did and he taxi tested the Oakland plane in a field a block from my house.

I can scan the article into a PDF if you'd like. I can scan the brochure if I can find it!

Thanks Dog - I believe I have that article - was it written by someone in the midwest who ordered a set of plans on his father's bank sationery?

The brochure I may not have, and any pictures you may have would be most interesting.

Ritch: I got your material, it looks like the same thing I have but mine of course does not have the handwritten notes.
Again - any photos you may have (scanned) would be most appreciated.

Thanks!
Jeff
