I got word this morning that my Aunt and Uncle had to leave their home in Malibu, CA, yesterday because of the fires. They had time to fill both of thair vehicles before leaving, but that is about it.

Does anyone know how to obtain current satellite images? I would like to be able to take a look at their place while waiting for word on how they have fared.

Mike (the concerned)

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Thousand Oaks would be the next closest, then Simi Valley and Camarillo, but if they moved into a motel or went to stay with friends?????

Thanks Brandon.

We got word from my Aunt last night, that they are OK. They spent the day at a restaurant not too far away. They have been allowed to return to their home, but are on notice they could be asked to leave at any time. Apparently the fires around Malibu are still only 10% contained.

I have been trying to map the locations of know fires and structures lost in their area based on news reports. I have not been able to very much reliable info. If anyone knows of any web sites where the locations of specific fires are listed please post here.

Mike
