I discovered four Original artworks, that were submitted to Curtiss Wright as proposals for a Curtiss Helldiver (monoplane version) logo or emblem. They were in a file in the Curtiss Wright archives. I do not think they were known to exist, nor have they been seen, before.
For some reason that famous auction site would Not let me put them in the "aviation collectables" category, and insisted they be in the "Original art" category. (Same problem they have been giving me, when i list original aviation art fom Charles Hubbell). They can be seen in seller search for "memaerobilia" or possibly Helldiver art?
These are pretty fantastic. The one with the Panther has a handwriten note "Try airplane." They are much more than sketche and very detailed, when seen in person.
