I wasn't sure where to put this, hopefully I've found the most appropriate place. Cards on the table. My day job is a seller of commercial two-way radio parts and accessories on eBay. Through the old friend of a friend jungle telegraph, I've been offered a batch of military surplus vintage aircraft antennas, mostly unused in original packaging. I was told they were Spitfire antennas, but when a couple of samples reached me, there was indeed a used unboxed Type 93 Spitfire antenna, but the boxed item is a Doolittle Radio Inc antenna. It is labelled 110BB/233, however the Bakelite?? base is stamped 110BB/879 and NAF68986-1. It is also stamped with a US anchor logo which I presume indicates US Navy. Military radio is not my area of expertise and I don't have any contacts in that field. I have not found any information online as to what these antennas are or what aircraft they might fit. I'm a bit wary therefore about shelling out a fair wad of cash without knowing what I'm getting and whether there's a market for it. I was hoping therefore that there might be someone out there who might know what they are and might be willing to educate me. Equally if there's anyone who needs a shiny new antenna for their pride and joy, drop me a message and we can hopefully work something out.
