One of the latest military films, it's time to rate... Dunkirk

Brilliantly made and a definite multi-watch movie for the collection. Only snag is the wing mounted camera giving the side view through the prop is so obviously not a Spitfire!

My only real issue is the incredible gliding capability of the spitfire
Think that's more of an editing misadventure though.
Other than that I liked it.

I'm not crazy about Christopher Nolan's directing. His movies leave me feeling unentertained.

I didn't get any sort of fear or even desperation from the actors.
Also, the British Army seemed very reserved...more like they were waiting at an underground station.

The beach seemed awfully free of litter/wreckage.

The British Army has come in for a lot of criticism over the years for its performance in WWII (aside from N Africa). This film just adds to that. I got the idea the entire Army was waiting for the Americans to eventually rescued them, then complain about the Americans coming late. :)

I saw the film with a retired Army General who is a history buff.
He was less impressed than I was.
