This movie was made at a time when patriotism was a dirty word in some parts of the country. For liberals, it was supposed to show what a nutball Patton was. For conservatives, it was supposed to show what a genius Patton was. For those of us who know military equipent, we cringe when we see the tanks (entirely wrong decade). Stilll, there is solid acting on thebpart of George C. Scott and Karl Malden. It bugs me when the two men talk about their giant noses (neither Patton or Bradley had giant noses). Many an aspiring military member loves this movie. It was quite popular at the military school that I attended. For the acting and script, I give it 4 stars out of five.

There was a made for TV movie released in 1988 called The Last Days of Patton which explores his brief time after WW2 and death in a car accident. The original film though was amazing and remains so today.

One of my all time favorites.
Patton's family was a concerned about how the film makers would portray their father, but when they left the pre-release screening, they basically all said, "That was Dad!"
