Movie Review: Gotcha

Tue Apr 11, 2017 5:00 pm

I strongly feel that this movie is the definitive Cold War movie. Also, there are military scenes, so it qualifies for this thread. Anthony Edwards plays Johnathon-a 19 year old college freshman on summer break. He goes to Paris with his friend Manolo. Manolo is quite te ladies man, leaving virginal Johnathon Johnathon often locked out of the room. Then Johnathon hooks up with a dark mysterious woman, Sasha. Sasha educates Johnathon in the ways of Paris, then convinces him to go with her to Berlin, then East Berlin. It turns out that Sasha is a spy, and for once, Hollywood shows spies as they actually do work instead of that unrealistic James Bond crap. A scene of note is Johnathon trying to exit East Germany through Checkpoint Charlie-extremely well done. Anyway, Johnathon's skill in paintball serves him well as the KGB pursues him. Five stars out of five.
