Wait. Isn't this a fantasy flick? Yes, but the four siblings around whom the story revolves find themselves raising an army, leading a revolution, and find themselves in an epic battle with the powers of darkness, but more on that in a moment. In the 1930's J.R.R. Tolkien and C.s. Lewis were professors at Oxford university in England. Both were christians who wrote fantasy stories, that were by allegory and metaphor-christian stories. Prince Caspian is the second effort by Holllywood to bring Lewis' stories to film. The four siblings, two brothers, two sisters, sometimes slip through a a warp into a dimension to a land callled Narnia, in which they are the monarchs. In this, the second flick, the siblings find that in their absence from Narnia, everything has gone wrong-their kingdom is in shambles and the forces of darkness have taken control. The siblings have to raise an army to put things right. There is a battle scene that is......well, let me say the film makers did their research on medieval batttles. The infantry is out front. The archers right behind them. More infantry behind the archers. Artillery behind the second wave, and a third wave behind them. Cavalry is off to the side.It reminded me of my days in offficer's school. This battle scene alone, makes the movie worth watching. I give this flick four stars out of five.
