Warbird Information Exchange

The Seabees was a unit of the US Navy that was essential to the island hopping campaign in the pacific theater of WW2. John Wayne was the lead in the movie. The movie correctly depicted that the seabees sometimes worked while under fire from the enemy. I'm an amateur historian, not schooled enough to know if the seabees were ever forcd into the front line of the battle, as depictd in the movie, but it's not likely. Still, don't let me take away from the bravery and genius of these hard working men. For John Wayne fans, it's great stuff. For amateur historians, like myself, it's good stuff. for the purists, well......it's goood escapist entertainment. Four stars out of five.
