John Wayne is the lead in this Batjac production (JW's company). For the first half of the movie, JW is Colonel McNally, regiment commander of a unit that's supposed to move Union payrolls during the War of Northern Aggression. However, there's some crafty rebels in the woods who know how to get the gold. Later in the movie, McNally teams with these very same rebs to catch a traitor and save a town at the same time. It's good entertainment. Four stars out of five.
