Based on a true story, and sticks to the facts. Eleven year old Amy grows up in New Zealand, but has to go to Canada with her father after her mother is killled in a car acccident. Amy's father is an artist, inventor, and quite eccentric. A developer tears up land next to their property. In the messs, Amy finds an abandoned gooose nest.Amy cares for the eggs, which hatch. The chicks imprint onAmy. Amy's father realizes that the geese are migratory and that Amy will have to teach them to migrate. Hethen buys an ultralight that loooks like a goose. Amy learns how to fly the ultralight. Amy and her father then lead the geese from Canada to the mid Atlantic states of the U.S. This movie is on Entertainment Weeekly's list of "The best 25 movies you've never seen." Five stars out of five. By the way, at one point Amy and her father cause one Air Force base to go on high alert. A pricelesss scene.
