Surviving Ki-61 Hien 'Tonys'


    Wikipedia
  • A Ki-61-II-Kai (Ser. no. 5017) is on static display at the Tokko Heiwa Kaikan Museum in Chiran Kagoshima Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan.
  • A Ki-61 (unknown type and serial number) is owned by Kermit Week's Fantasy of Flight museum. It is currently stored and in need of restoration.
  • A Ki-61-II-Otsu (Ser. no. 640) is currently under restoration to flying condition and will become part of the Military Aviation Museum collection in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA.

  • Ki-61-Ib Hien "Tony" - 640 - Australia - CR - National Museum. Currently under restoration by Robert Greinert, with the plan to make flyable replicas at the same time. Will be returned to PNG.
  • Ki-61-IIKai Hien "Tony" - 5070 - Japan - PV - Chiran Kamikaze Memorial Museum, Kagoshima
  • Ki-61 Hien "Tony" - USA - D - Museum of Flying, Santa Monica

there were parts for at least one more airframe at wangaratta before the arrival of of 640...a section of fuselage from the cockpit forward and a tail section if i recall..could be the start of the planned third airframe.
