Still no word?

It's almost like the people who are there are keeping secrets from those of us who couldn't go...

Well since no one else has answered, here's a brief rundown of what was on the ramp on Saturday.

12 Avengers
3 Corsairs
2 Wildcats
1 Hellcat
3 P-47s
4 P-51s
2 B-17s
PBY
2 C-47/R4D
3 B-25
1 Helldiver
1 Dauntless
1 Skyraider
1 Firefly

That's most of the major stuff just off the top of my head. The weather was absolutely gorgeous on Saturday and it was a great show. I would have liked to have seen a few more of the aircraft fly on Sat. though.

Oh yeah, I also got my subscription to Warbird Digest :D

Catherine and I had a fantastic weekend! I just got back from the show. It was an 8 hour drive with a few stops, so I am still feeling the road buzz.

The Yankee Air Force Museum deserves to be congratulated on the show they put on. The number and variety of attending aircraft within the naval theme was impressive. On top of that there were 3 P-47s on the ramp! It was very nice to meet Paul Draper, and thanks to Todd Hackbarth for his hospitality.

I shook the hands of many "WIX nuts" (I count myself in that group so no flak!). I met Brad Pilgram and Stephen Dennis (just to name a few) for the first time. I also had the chance to get caught up with a number of others including Eric, Steve, Jim, Tim... the "usual suspects". I also signed up for my subscription to Warbirds Digest. I still haven't had a chance to read it yet (hard to read and take pictures, or read and drive).

I must say that the symposium last year was very good, but this year it was quite excellant. The speakers were quite real, and it was fantastic to be in their presence. For those of you that attended and didn't go to the dinner you really missed something. The planes are a highlight of the show, but the speakers at the symposium, as I said, made it real. After the dinner I realized the planes were only half the story. Catherine and I both talked about what they had to say, and are already looking forward to next year's symposium.

I'll be taking my pictures into the lab first thing tomorrow morning, so I should have some pictures later in the week to post on Webshots. I have a draft of the attendance list and will be refining it as well so it can be posted in the downloads section.

Regards,

Mike

Very nice list. Just one slight correction I noted, the Firefly is C-GBDG.

Cheers
