There are many more videos over at the Alexis Park Inn aviation video website http://www.alexisparkinn.com/aviation_videos.htm, one of my favourite being an in-cockpit video of an RV-4 kitplane http://www.alexisparkinn.com/photogallery/Videos/2006-6-10-Treetop-RV4-Flyer.wmv doing a river-run at below treetop level! Great music by Stephen Stills too!

Hmmm... Knew someone who was killed doing that.

That kind of flying, while exciting, reminds me of a few axioms:

There are no old & bold pilots.
I'd rather be lucky than good.
A fool and his LIFE are soon parted.

OK, I admit, I made that last one up.

It's not too bad. I'd love to fly like that. Why fly if you can't fly like an eagle.

Thanks to that video, I am going out and getting my Sports pilots license. MAybe even an RV-4!

Why do you need an RV-4 then, to fly like an eagle just flap your arms.

I'm not saying flying can't be entertaining, but out of about 15 pilot's funerals I've been to, only one was due to natural causes.

Maybe this guy has been down that river 1000 times and knows that there aren't any wires or other obstructions, but it can encourage other less experienced folks to do that sort of thing. If you are just getting into flying as another way to goof off and be reckless, please stay away from me and try not to let my wife see your demise on the news. She thinks that flying is dangerous enough already without adding another statistic.

Flying is not a video game.

Videos wont work for me.

Indeed you need some sort of thinking and experiance if you are going to fly like that. And the video wasn't what made me say that, but it just increased my interest in becoming a pilot. I always figured pilots were a bread of the their own. People that have a high sence of life and justice and the thought of being able to do something not many people do. Besides I always thought flying was a risk since being a pilot IS a risk and I hope all pilots think that way. I always figured no matter if you fly safely or not you still might get killed either way.

Ohhh my......

Love the in-cockpit shots during the acrobatic video. The lady pilot looks like she's watching paint dry. :)
