Hmmmmm......

Yup.. looks alot like sheboygan from the air allright... and the weather
was about right as well.. beautiful pics.. nice flying.. wish I would have
seen that formation come on by when I was up.... not that I could
have pushed the poor little piper warrior that hard unless these guys
put in a little slow flight and dropped their flaps a little... :-)

btw.. I'm very curious.. whats camp JEEP?

Being a Jeep fanatic, and if it's what I think it is, Camp Jeep is a yearly event held by the Jeep company (Chrysler) promoting the Jeep vehicle line complete with four wheeling courses, challenges, product line support and all that...never have attended one but would love to sometime when it returns to Colorado...I have owned 3 CJ's, a Wagoneer, and am on my first Wrangler (an '87) and LOVE to 4 wheel when I can....

Mint, any chance of getting a copy of that second shot with the two P-51's and Jim's Corsair?

Mark

Hmmm...even checking under www.4wd.com/campjeep2006 it mentions that the 'Hollywood Belle movie star B-17 bomber (?)' will be available for tours and inspection...looks like WWII planes figured into the Jeep weekend, kinda cool! They do go hand in hand, all the way back to WWII...on my wall is a shot from the UK I took in 2000 of a Mk. V Spitfire on a green field with a CJ-2a Army Jeep parked nearby....two of my favorite things in one pic...

Hi, all. New to the site, been lurking for a few months, this is my first post.
Really enjoy the site!

Anyway, I live about 2 miles from this event. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend. As I was sitting in my house on Sat., the phone rang, and as I got up to answer it, I heard the unmistakable sound of a Merlin. As the phone rang for the third time, my wife yelled why wasn't I answering it? While sprinting outside, I yelled "To h@ll with the phone, there's a Mustang over the house!" I got outside just in time to see a beautiful banking turn right over my house! Sweet! I came back in with a smile on my face, but my wife just shook her head.

Thanks for the great photos!

Welcome aboard!!!

Don't feel too bad....my wife gives me those looks every year during the last week of July as she's being dragged all over Oshkosh in 98 degree weather!

My wife & I have an agreement, which seems to have worked real well.

About 35 years ago, she watched me "multi-tasking" with work late one evening and said (you know the tone of voice, right?):

"YOU need a HOBBY!"

We call that the "Be Careful What You Wish For" Department in our house now. She got what she wished for, all right (more than she wished for??). Boy, what a nice "hobby"!

Our agreement is in two parts:

1. Before you open your mouth to "tell" your spouse something, remember that "Be Careful..." thing.

2. I don't expect her to enjoy Warbirds and she doesn't expect me to enjoy her hobbies, except on our occasional travels together, and then only occasionally. We don't rub each other's nose in it, but simply acknowledge that our avocations make us the "interesting people" we pretend to be.
