Photo flight?

Eric, do you think you could arrange a photo flight? I'm up for it if you can find a photo ship.

And, ahem, what about, ahem, having something with 12 cylinders, ahem, next to us while you take pictures, ahem.

Ollie, That is not a problem as I'm always looking for photoplanes and photoships. I really want to shoot your aircraft and may call on you to shoot other aircraft. We are going to have some fun!!! How about you and Doug in the P-51C. The problem is the P-51C is pretty fast.

Eric, if I'm alone in the Focke-Wulf and the cowl flaps are closed, I can get at least 140 knots, maybe 150 if I'm lucky.

But that depends on the temperature, air pressure, humidity, etc...

Eric, you are in charge of operation "Photo Recce"!

That is what I like to hear

There are several pilots at Geneseo that like to play so I'm sure we can get some flying and photos in. I should try and get Kees from the GWFM to fly in formation with Olivier. A Fokker DR.1 FW.149 shot. The Navion and 149 would be a good match and we can fit in a photog or two.

See, now ya done it! Got me dreaming about Geneseo photoflights already :lol:

A nice place that is not to far from the field is Letchworth State Park seen here with Roger Hadfield and the Stampe.

Ryan, How far is the flight? It was a few years ago when I did the shoot. Rob, That would be anice place to video.

If you were to fly straight there, you'd be looking at 7 miles on the dot to the "great bend" area that you shot over. See similar here:

Go another 9 miles upstream and you come to a gorgeous waterfall duo and a railroad trestle spanning the gorge:

I remember flying VERY close to the trestle with some unnamed pilots from the airshow many years back! Fun at the time, but really stupid.

I bet I know who you are talking about

Any replacement for the 208 yet? My father has a great shot looking down the wing of Fuddy Duddy while flying over the Park. My mother had just passed away a few months earlier and my father was wondering around Upstate New York with the car when he stoped in at Geneseo. While having a smoke outside the car someone came up to him and said the B-17 is going for a hop and if he was interested he could come along. That really helped pick up his spirits. The flight went up the canyon both ways and went from one wingtip to the other. They then headed for Conesus Lake and did a buzz job before a low and over at Geneseo.

I remember hearing one of Austin's girls, Niaomi I think, talking about how they would load up the B-17 and go for breakfast at other airports. What an aircraft to tool around in.

I'm sure you have lots of great memories of Genie.

Hmmmm. I might have to get in on this.

If I can find a ride up to NY then I'm definitely game. I understand the Collings Foundation will be taking the Corsair up there, and it's based right here by my house. Maybe I can stowaway.

I dunno if Gary could fit you in the radome... thats possible! Might want to turn in that direction too much!

Oh wow, that's a great shot!!! I remember stories of Dr. Bill shovelling the snow off the top of that shed and sliding off... I knew he had nine lives then!

God, I was still like 7 or 8 when the real good times were going on there... when I became 10 thats when all the fun started going downhill into the commercialism and infighting that eventually led to the split. I stuck with the HAG group because of my ties with Austin and Bill... was the youngest member when it was chartered... number 250 here.

I wish I had been around for those days, but at the same time I am glad I wasn't... if I had been, I'd be doubly upset over what was lost through the political wars that happened.
