THE TANKERS ARE A UNTOUCHED SAGA OF THE TBMS HISTORY AS FAR AS PUBLISHED PHOTOS GO.THERE WERE SOME VERY NICE PAINT JOBS AND WHAT A BILLBOARD THE SIDE OF A TBM MAKES!! WE OWE THANKS TO THE NUMBER OF SURVIVING TBMS IN THE WORLD TO THE COMPANYS THE PUT THESE A/C TO WORK IN THE FIRE FIGHTING/SPRAYER ROLE.WITH OUT THEIR EFFORTS THE TBM COULD BE AS RARE AS THE SB2C OR WORSE.THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING THESE RARE PHOTOS!! FIND US MORE!! Hi Great aerial shot of a TBM tanker at work!!This group of photos would be a nice addition to the TBM Warbirds registry!Keep looking for more,Im sure there are lots more hidden away in that old box of forgotten photos! The tankers operated for several years, but there seems to be a shortage of photos of many of them.Does anyone know how many TBMs were converted? Is there a list of the companys that used them? Please post them or contact me direct, I would love to gather enough to put a book together on the history of the TBM in its role as a fire fighter/sprayer a/c.THANKS!! Mike
