Per Air Classics, Cavanaugh is getting kicked off of Addison due to their lease not being renewed. This was a long time coming - unfortunately that day has come.

Anybody know which 2 locations the collection will be stored at pending the future of the museum?

Your thread title is misleading and inaccurate.

I heard a while back that this was possibly going to happen, and that other locations were being considered in the event the lease was not renewed. CFM is an excellent museum. I wish them all the best and hope that they can either work a deal to stay where they are or find a suitable location to reopen and continue being excellent!

And I can second that. People around here know better... so why do that?

Why be so encryptic? If you know why the info is wrong please tell us.

No one is being cryptic. The museum is not "shutting down."

Ah, thanks for setting the record straight and verifying that CFM will remain open at Addison. Air Classics and Michael O'Leary have been known to publish inaccurate information over the years and I guess this is one more example of that. I should have known better since there are no other sources corroborating this including CFM's own website, social media or other warbird information outlets.

Why do you think that Air Classics published that info?

Changing locations does not equate to “shutting down.”

Geez guys... Instead of going nuts over the topic title (which may not be the best title, but far from inaccurate), why not just provide the best sources factual contextual improvements?

"Cavanaugh Flight Museum Shutting [Addison Location] down [while considering new home]" is a bit too long for the title field...

O.K., fair enough. I thought it was obvious that I was referring to the Addison location, but sorry for the confusion.

Clarity is not a strong point of this thread. I'm not sure why, but if people really do know something, maybe it would be a good place to post it.

Or maybe "Cavanaugh Flight Museum [searching for new home]" if brevity is a concern.

That’ll be one huge job to move. Is there a short list of possible new sites?

There are plenty of airports in Texas.
However, if you want one with decent facilities and near a population center that would provide visitors (to raise money to keep the doors open), that's the difficult part.
