Hello,

I read recently that the Monino Central Air Force Museum had a fire that destroyed the main hangar in 2005.

I visited this museum in the mid-1990s. The entrance hangar included quite a collection of historic WWII airplanes. I wonder if any of these were destroyed in the fair.

Does anyone have more detailed on this fire and any historic items that might have been destroyed?

It just so happens there's an article that has exactly the answer you're looking for: Is it true that a collection of aircraft engines from the First World War burned down in Monino?

See another thread for more information about the Central Air Force Museum.
