Hi all,
As well as his work on Brendon Deere's P-51D 45-11513/NZ2423, the ex-John Smith machine, New Zealand engineer Pete Burgess has for some time been involved with another Mustang for a foreign owner who wishes to remain anonymous for the time being. Both have kindly sent me photos of the project, which is being restored to airworthiness, to share on WIX.

The first part to get Pete’s expert attention was the vertical stabiliser, seen here as received some months ago. I understand the condition was such that it won’t take long before it’s complete.

The owner will hopefully allow more detail to be provided in due course but in the meantime this should whet the collective appetite!

Looks like one of the Central/South American paint jobs.

Is there an ID associated with this one Zac is that under wraps for now?
Thanks for updating the NZ forum on the Brandon Deere P-51 by the way, I check the thread here and there and am looking forward to seeing the end result. :drink3:

There is, hopefully the owner will allow all to be revealed in good time.

My pleasure! I know many enthusiasts shy away from social media and I didn't think they should miss out because of it.
