1945 Army Air Force Fair Pamphlet

Fri Jan 27, 2023 9:31 pm

I was looking through a collection at the museum today, when I came across a pamphlet for the 1945 Army Air Force Fair at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. As I was already planning on scanning some other documents, I knew I had to include it:

Here are higher resolution copies of the above:

A few notes:
  • The pamphlet was made out of a paper folded in half and then half again. However, the inside was blank.
  • The edges are rather rough cut and not straight.
  • The large, twin tail airplane in the T-2 section is the Ju 290 A-4, Werk-Nr. 0165, better known as "Alles Kaput".
  • The Charles Daniels Collection on the San Diego Air and Space Museum's Flickr account has a series of photographs taken at the event. A color set from the 1947 show can also be found on the website Rovingbits.
