You're right, with the Tradewinds single tail conversion, the Volpar nose gear conversion, and the turbine conversion, most people would not recognize that as a Beech 18.
I have read that the vertical fun is actually a cut down 18 horizontal stabilizer.

That SeeBee looking thing is a Trident, a Canadian effort from the 60-70s.

Nice SUD Alloutte III. Next to it is a Bell 47D...it at least a one piece "D" fuel tank. I'm not saying it is here, but I have seen museums use various "mix and match" 47 parts from various models to put together a static display. As a Bell 47 fan, I'always happy to see one on display.

The Junkers looks a bit like a Ju-86, but they were twin engined.

Also, nice to see a Bollingbroke and Anson.

I've been wanting to go back to Victoria since we were there in 2015 on a cruise. My wife wanted to do the Bouchard Gardens tour. I would have fought her had I known this museum was there. We really don't live that far away, just a boat ride cross the water from Port Townsend.

Supposedly yes.....but it cannot be visited. No Lodestar on site.....but there was one in Abbotsford!!!! More soon.

Hi Gang,

Yes, the Lodestar belonging to the Canadian Museum of Flight is CF-TCY, and is currently stored at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) Aerospace Campus. It was a gate guard at Delta Heritage Air Park just down the road from Boundary Bay Airport, but being right next to the ocean it was quickly deteriorating. It was then moved to Abbotsford Airport and some restoration work was commenced by the students and staff at UFV. I believe work has been paused on it, and has been paused for a while.

The Canadian Museum of Flight is working on hopefully building a new facility at Langley Airport that would allow most of its aircraft to be housed indoors. I am skeptical about whether it'll be big enough to have every airplane indoors, which is potentially disappointing, but we'll see.

I really hope it will be big enough to house our DC-3 and Lockheed Lodestar indoors.
