Called the day before......sure come over. They openend the place just for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The nicest museum experience ever........sincerely.

Got to get in the Lancaster and see the Calgary Spartan Air Mosquito being worked on.

Just a fabulous museum.

Nice of them to do that!
I need to go up there and check out the Lancaster.
Never been in one. I got to climb through one of the last operational Shackeltons, so I have an idea, but I'm sure seeing a Lanc is special.

And it would be fun to see a CF-100 again, I remember those coming to our base open house when I was a kid.
Yes, I am that old.
And seeing a Cessna T-50/Crane/AT-17/UC-78 Would be fun, just like Sky King's.
That pop culture reference proves I'm old.

I stumbled upon it during a trip through the area in 2008. I was able to show my wife where in a Lancaster her late dad saw (tail gunner). It also was a week or 2 after they rolled the Lancanster out and fired up the engines. We had to rush in a museum that I wish I hadn't had to. Its on the list of places to return to.

They do run engines on quite a few AC's.

They just got the Buchon recently. It was donated by the government in the same spur that got the Spit donated to the Canadian Warplane Heritage.

Since it is a gift....the Buchon will be ground run at one point.

They also have 4 complete Hercules and one running.

This is for their Halifax project. They started with a Hasting center section for the base pattern and have a lot of parts gathered so far.

More coming soon.......

Thanks for posting these photos, Michael. I've long admired the work this museum does and would love to visit some day.

Awesome photos, thanks for sharing! Didn't realize they now had a Buchon. Appears to be the same one that was in the storage hangar with the National Collection in Rockcliffe at one point.

It is the same....was donated to the museum not long ago.

The same deal that got the CWH Spitfire.

Since it is a full donation......they can do as they see fit.

I also saw this airframe in Winnipeg Manitoba 20+ years ago......lol....Ottawa, Winnipeg, back to Ottawa now Nanton AB!!!!!

Made and lent by a guy in Edmonton AB for his front lawn.

The museum added the landing gear.

It will be leaving soon I was told back to the owner.
