Worst possible outcome... This was at the West Virginia Huey Reunion.

From someone who likes to ride on as many different types of aircraft as possible, condolences to all six victims and their families.
I had, admittedly, expected a Huey Reunion to be something else than what is described on the operator's homepage: https://marpataviation.com/huey-reunion.

This, by the way, was apparently the oldest flying Huey in the world: https://marpataviation.com/n98f-history (though I might have waited until it was stripped down for its next major overhaul before photographing it - I think murals should be done on walls rather than on olive drab helicopters).

I have looked at the Malpat Aviation webpage, and the one particular concern for me is that the page advertises rides for children, who must be old enough the use a seatbelt, and cannot sit on parent's lap.

I have no concern whatsoever about providing rides, but adults appreciate (or at least should appreciate) that there is some risk involved, and make a decision based on their assessment of such risk. Children can be expected to lack the maturity to make such a decision for themselves. I hope there were no children on board.

Six adults, consisting of two younger pilots, a post-Vietnam Army pilot, the wife of a Vietnam Vet & two other people. One of the younger guys was apparently flying & the Army pilot was in the other seat up front to get some stick time.

Like when kids go on a fairground ride? Or travel in a car? Or on an airline flight? Not exactly a helpful observation at a time when the uninformed news outlets will be gunning for an 'angle' on what is a tragic occurrence. Kids or not, folks died.

Some sources are saying they did not have an exemption for the living history ride program. Was this a ride flight or a training flight?

Wow, they had no waivers for rides or instruction.
Dan could stand to use some note cards while narrating his videos.

It is my understanding it has to be one or the other, and both need waivers.
I helped write the first waiver for the UH-1H back in the 1990s

Ok guilty on the LODA, N98F was licensed experimental. But how does Dan know they cut power lines because of low flying?

Alleges wire strike in the video, but as JohnH notes, no evidence of that in his apparently on scene video.

Agree on the need for note cards- and the narrator says he has investigated aviation for years, repeatedly said he has never heard the term "nap-of-the earth" flying? Really? Isn't that a pretty well known term?

Straying from topic. I enjoyed Dan's investigative videos but more recently they were starting to be more about Dan and shock value. Then he started taunting the NTSB, recording their phone calls and he even tampered with a crash site to taunt them further. I had to leave his channel when he played the ATC tapes from the N880Z MedJet crash at the start of his video with no disclaimer or warning to exit. I've listened to crash records before but that was the most horrifying tape I've ever heard.
