Not to be the pesimist Rob, but i'll believe it when i see it. I'm all for her being recovered and restored and think she should be. But with the PNG goverment as it is I fear that the deal won't truely done until Swamp Ghost is outside of PNG borders. I wish the recoverers all the best

Just wondering,

Who actually claimed to have the "ownership" to sell her?

Assuming this proves accurate, in what shape is the airframe today?

Wow, thats great news! Lets all keep our fingers crossed until it actually happens. Thanks for the update!

If it's true, and it comes to pass, that's great news, but what about the Hill Air Force Museum deal? I seem to remember you mentioning that this trumped all other deals in the past Rob. Has this changed, or are you not able to say at present?

Cheers,
Richard

It's nice but i don't t6hink i would be willing to die for it.

Did this aircraft acquire its 'Swamp Ghost' nickname while in service, before crashing in what looks from that photo a swamp? Or is that a nickname that refers to it's current predicament?

I'm sure after 60 years an attempt to lift it out won't be easy, the underside at least will probably be pretty much poked.

Dave

The aircraft had no name whilst in service, it is a 'coined' phrase to describe it's status.....
