Does anybody have a lost of original serial numbers of those aircraft rebuilt into T-6Gs?

I know some put I am looking for a comprehensive list.

Hi Scott,

There is a good amount where it's know what the original was prior becoming a T-6G. However there's not a complete list. And the available data not always accurate since sometimes serials being mentioned which never were issued, or which were allocated to other type of aircraft.

I started looking at these a while back and, as Benno says, they are a nightmare. The following is a sample of T-6C > T-6G aircraft, using either the 'T-6C' record card annotations or the 'T-6G' rebuild cards. As you can see, s/ns are often repeated and/or don't apply to the T-6 series at all!

I suspect that whoever was responsible for record-keeping either got bored with their job or didn't think it would matter!

Long long ago when Doug Goss owned the first converted T-6G 49-2897, he told me it originally had a 41- serial number - unfortunately it was lost in a crash this past August with its current owner.

some of the Gs had the original # on the roll over cap.
